“Let us not waste our time in idle discourse! … Let us do something, while we have the chance!" Act II, Waiting for Godot,

I stumbled upon Arnold Bennet’s excellent book, How to Live on Twenty-Four Hours a Day ( link ) during my high school years, and I keep returning to it a couple of times a year. His idea that “There is much pleasure to be derived from being a specialist.” has remained the guiding principle in my interests.

In this line of thinking, I tend to think of my interests in two ways - passions and pastimes.

In line with Mr. Bennet’s focus on specialization, I try to narrow my passions down to a select few areas.

“It’ll pass the time” Act I, Waiting for Godot

A pastime is “something that makes time pass more agreeably and enjoyably”. When I have time to spare, I like to pass it with in a number of ways:

  1. Cooking
  2. Acroyoga - I love attending classes and workshops taught by Peter!
  3. Reading - this is also reflected in my wishes
  4. Maintaining and making webpages.
